during the in-camp training, my platoon was proclaimed as the best platoon. it was unthinkable at the beginning since this was my first in-camp. with this, i completed my in-camp with a triumphant mood.
on arriving home, from the newspaper, i learnt that the s'porean hostage killed in Mumbai was my classmate. this was shocking. it's unthinkable that anyone from my batch would just pass away in such a young age, especially not for someone who has everything lying ahead of her and set for a perfect life in everyone's eyes.
This reminds me of the verse "the Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away" (Job 1:21); "Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring" (Proverbs 27:1) and be humble in the Lord.
